Fair Fishing And Then Bad Weather

Report Date: January 31, 2019

Fun day aboard the Alikai yesterday with regular customer Ralph De La Vega and his family. We ran the ditch to Ft Pierce to try and stay out of the way of the 39 boat Buccaneer fleet. We started in 100ft if water and it was cold and green so I fished east to where we found a nice edge and we caught a mahi of a couple and jumped a single sailfish off and then caught a double header of sailfish. Thinking we we’re gonna get in a groove but I was proven wrong with no more sailfish bites. We had a wahoo clean ya out and some small tuna bites we didn’t connect on. Decided to go bottom fishing about 1pm and we made a collection of 15 nice Seabass, some lane snapper, a almaco jack and 6 bluefish caught off the bottom in 200ft of water...

I canceled today and tmrw because of weather. Look forward to getting back on the water on Tuesday and Wednesday with the same group
