Late Summer Report/Fall Forecast

Report Date: October 6, 2020

The last 4-5 weeks between hurricanes, rainouts, and swell from passing storms we have had some
Great fishing. The summer sail bite wound down but we still managed some multiple releases in mid to late August. Snapper fishing was hot. Tons of mutton snapper, jumbo vermillion snapper, the occasional grouper and the ever present Amberjacks. Our best stretch on the mutton snapper fishing was 57 muttons in 3 days of fishing. Golden Tilefish have been biting when we can get deep and the current isn’t too bad!

Fall fishing is starting already with some mahi mahi, wahoo, blackfin tuna, cobia starting to show up. With each passing cool front and more north winds we will see more of these tasty fish arrive in the offshore waters of Stuart Florida. Our early season fishing is typically trolling for wahoo, kingfish, mahi mahi, tuna and sailfish. As the season gets later the more abundant the sailfish become! Snapper fishing will remain strong and the big lanes should be arriving any day now. As of the last couple days the vermillion snapper fishing was still great and some mahis are showing up as well! Trolling, bottom fishing and kite fishing all become excellent options for great action and quality fish during October and November!
