Sails

Report Date: June 5, 2020

Fished with Wyatt, Jim, Cody and @bali_campbell. Bait was challenging and it was much windier and choppier then forecast but our anglers were fired up and we went. We had phenomenal fishing, but lack luster catching. We had some bad luck and more fish won them not unfortunately. We fired the kites up at 9am. By 9:30 we had released Bali and Cody’s first ever sailfish and caught a 14lb mahi mahi. Both sailfish were released with tags. We jumped another sailfish off shortly after, and as we were getting ready to move and reset we hooked and pulled another sailfish off! 2nd drift was a little slower but we jumped off two more sailfish 🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️ and had a couple of cutoffs. Our 3rd drift yielded a 10lb mahi mahi, False albacore, a 80lb hammerhead shark and another sailfish that we jumped off 5ft from the leader and we saw another sailfish that didn’t bite. Looking forward to tomorrow the backside of the moon bite has been exceptional the last couple of months and I hope it continues we have a busy week scheduled. Looks like rain will fall off and hope the wind backs off just a little..
