Hey folks, Captain here with your December offshore fishing update from Stuart, the Sailfish Capital of the World. We’ve been hitting the deep blue and let me tell you, it’s been an exciting month on the water. The Mahi are running strong, and we’ve been hooking some beauties in the 90’-130’ depth range. The Sailfish have been a bit shy, but we’re still managing to reel in a few on each trip. It’s always a thrill to see a client catch their first Sailfish!
Now, if you’re after Wahoo, this is your time. We’ve been snagging some up to 35 lbs, mostly on our planer rods. And let me not forget the Blackfin Tuna – always a crowd-pleaser and perfect for some fresh sashimi back on shore.
We’re trolling ballyhoo for most of these catches, and when we send up the kites, the action really heats up. As for the bottom dwellers, the Lane Snappers are biting hard, especially in those 60’-90’ reef areas. Throw in some chicken rigs with squid or sardines, and you’re set for a good haul. Don’t overlook the Mutton Snapper either – a live bait or a grunt plug can do wonders in the same depth range.
Despite some rough seas, the fishing’s been solid. Just remember, conditions change fast out here, so always keep an eye on the weather. We’re all set to make the most of December’s fishing, so if you’re looking to get out on the water, give us a shout, and let’s book you a trip of a lifetime.
